A Four-Week Lifelong Learning Series in Partnership with the History Museum of Mobile
Before it was the Azalea City, Mobile was a strategic prize fought over by the greatest empires on Earth. In celebration of America's 250th, we invite you to come learn about Mobile’s role in the Colonial Era. This course introduces the origins of Mobile and how it played an intricate role as a city that was controlled by three of the major European powers. Students will listen to lectures from the staff of the History Museum of Mobile as well as read primary and secondary sources relating to the time.
With an optional field trip on the 4th week. If you do not want to register for the field trip, call the office to register.

Crime and Personality Disorders examines the relationship between criminal behavior and personality pathology through psychological, sociological, and criminological perspectives. The course explores major personality disorders identified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), with particular emphasis on antisocial, narcissistic, borderline, and psychopathic traits as they relate to criminal conduct, violence, manipulation, and recidivism. Students will analyze theories of personality development, risk factors for criminality, forensic assessment methods, and the role of mental health within the criminal justice system.

Art Heists & Unsolved Mysteries: Recent heists like jewels at the Lourve or the paintings from the Magnani Rocca Foundation villa, shock and intrigue art lovers worldwide. What artifacts are missing? Why and how are they significant? What do infamous thefts like the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist or the theft of the Mona Lisa tell us?
Scandals and Vandals: Famous art becomes a target for personal and political propaganda. Michelangelo’s Vatican Pieta and Florentine David survived brutal attacks in situ.
